Call to Action

You know, when we write — we try to get a point across through a quick “oh my gosh” laugh, the “oh yes” head nod, or even the hand on the forehead that expresses “yes sis”. Through words, we try to relate and create a sense of understanding and empathy through an outlet that allows us all to connect. Yet, there are some topics that words are hard to get out, we find ourselves with our hands hovering the keyboards — yet nothing. The emotions overtake, the lack of comprehension of the evil that exist, as well as the broken systems that are empowered in our world becomes real. We don’t quite have the words to truly embody the racism, discrimination, broken law enforcement system, or lack of education that engulfs the world. However, we will try our best to honor these topics and create space for them to be heard and understood.

On March 3rd, 2021, Sarah Everard, a 33-year old woman was claimed missing in the London area.

Sarah was walking home at 9:30 PM, she called her boyfriend while she walked to a friend’s house. She never made it there.

On March 10th, 2021, Sarah Everard was found dead — brutally killed by a police officer, Wayne Couzens.

The New York Times stated that her family describes Sarah as “bright and beautiful — a wonderful daughter and sister,” and reflected on her…
